PURPOSE:  The Program Manager drives key processes of the mentoring pre-match and post-match journey in a program. They work with stakeholders across the mentoring journey – corporate partners, mentors, and mentoring pairs/groups. They own the creation of key operational processes.  And ensure that our internal team are trained and achieve quality execution of these processes.

EXPERIENCE: Overall 4-6 years of relevant social sector experience with a minimum of 2 years of experience in Program Management. Experience executing programs that work with youth using technology will be preferred.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manage a designated number of corporate mentor partner relationships .
    • Work with corporate partners (these could range from 6-9 in a year) in creating and successfully executing mentor outreach campaigns through webinars, emailer campaigns
    • Manage weekly, monthly and quarterly reporting for designated corporate mentor partners
    • Help corporate partners meet program excellence goals – standards set for number of successful mentor applications per partner
      • Support and select mentor applicants through to successful mentorship
        • Follow-up with designated mentor applicants during their pre-eligibility processes
        • Interview mentors and clarify program questions (these could range from a 150-200 mentors in a program year)
        • Achieve program excellence goals in overall mentor support and successful conversion to mentorship
        • Support mentorship pairs & groups
          • Support a designated number of mentorship pairs and groups in successfully completing their mentorship (ranges from 100 – 150 in a cycle)
          • Achieve program excellence goals of maintaining early terminations of mentorships to under 20% and achieving the desired net promoter score from pairs managed
          • Update qualitative and quantitative records for pairs, record stories of impact
          • Curate and match mentees to work experience opportunities
            • Curate upto 50 work experience opportunities for mentees from amongst the mentor and larger corporate network
            • Standard Operating Process ownership
              • Prepare the standard operating procedure (SOP) for designated processes of the operational plan. Ensure it meets or is updated to any standards of effective mentoring practices, is clear and descriptive as a how-to for each step, is formatted to be easily understood, and is grammatically correct
              • Train in an ongoing way team members assigned to this process on using the SOP prepared, to do all steps of the SOP. This includes modes of demos, live training, and shadowing
              • Review & report in a periodical manner on the quality of implementation of the SOP. Deliver retraining to team members where necessary Overall ensure through the quality implementation of the process that individual goals set for that process are achieved

                                                    About the Mentor To Go virtual mentoring platform:

                                                    Mentor To Go is an android and web based virtual mentoring platform to help students improve their work readiness through self-learning sessions, personalised mentorship provided by mentor professionals from a range of careers, and skill building opportunities. Our vision at Mentor to Go is to provide career mentorship to young people anywhere, anytime across the length and breadth of India.

                                                    The technology platform implements functionalities such as: screening surveys of mentors and mentees, an individualised learning management system, matching through an algorithm, mentorship through structured activities, calendaring, progress tracking, rewards and encouragement.

                                                    The application technology architecture comprises of the following:

                                                    o   a Python Django web application with NGinx and Gunicorn

                                                    o   PostgreSQL database

                                                    o   A React Android and Web app

                                                    o   Rest APIs which interact between the Android app and the Django webserver

                                                    We are seeking a Product Manager (PM) who is passionate about building products that empower young people to actualise their potential, contributing to larger societal development. The PM will serve as a product owner within an agile team. They will write user stories, prioritize the product backlog, and work closely with engineers on the team to implement the stories, acceptance test them and release them periodically to production. 

                                                     

                                                    The responsibilities of this role span across these categories:

                                                    • Product roadmap
                                                    • Identify metrics to evaluate product performance
                                                    • Work with program team and developers for data reporting on these metrics
                                                    • Plan for periodic qualitative feedback collection from users and collect such feedback with the support of program team and/or user research consultants 
                                                    • Conduct sector research (youth mentoring/youth development) and wider market research/scans to identify design and feature trends
                                                    • Prepare product roadmaps based on all data collected 

                                                    • Requirements documentation : For each major new requirement prepare a document containing the following as applicable
                                                    • Overview and business purpose for the requirement
                                                    • Interfaces with existing functionality

                                                    • Data migration/production rollout considerations

                                                    Requirements

                                                    • 3 years of experience driving product management end to end from defining user stories to testing and deployment of features
                                                    • Experience in internet technologies based product development for the web as well mobile devices, with some recent hands on development experience on applications using Django, React, Postgressql
                                                    • Ability to translate product needs to technology, participate in technical discussions and help make technical trade-offs
                                                    • Strong technical leadership, project management, analytical problem solving, and troubleshooting skills

You will own the back end development of features of the Mentor To Go platform from conceptualisation through design and testing, working closely with other developers, the technical project manager, and the program operations team. You are user-centric, continuously demonstrate strategic & analytical abilities, and are laser focused on executing at speed. You must have the ability to succeed in a fast paced environment, where success is dependent on your ability to collaborate with cross-functional team members in a positive, productive, and transparent way.

                                                    Minimum requirements 

                                                    • Bachelor’s degree in engineering preferably  CS  or related discipline  
                                                    • 3+ years experience working in Unix/Linux environments building web and mobile applications
                                                    • Proficiency in developing and deploying cloud based Python/Postgresql applications preferably using frameworks such as Django
                                                    • Experience with design and development of moderately complex software projects
                                                    • Strong written and oral communication skills
                                                    • Familiarity with version control software such as Git

                                                    • 5+ years of overall relevant work experience

                                                      PURPOSE/ROLE: The role of Senior Manager Human Resources  is to ensure that ‘Mentor Together’ enhances its capability to realise its mission and vision by ensuring that every team member is aligned with the mission, vision and strategic agenda of the organization; that the organization attracts and retains quality talent with the skills and competencies  required to deliver on its goals and strategic agenda; and to put in place systems and processes that build a high performance and execution-focused organization, that is motivated and committed to actualizing its mission and vision by fully adhering to the organizational values.      

                                                       

                                                      LOCATION: Bangalore

                                                       

                                                      EXPERIENCE: 7-9 years of HR Generalist experience with deep knowledge of talent management in a non-profit organization or in a corporate multi-cultural environment.     

                                                       

                                                      KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

                                                      People Planning:

                                                      • Manage end to end processes for recruitment, selection and onboarding of Associates, Interns and short-term volunteers.
                                                        • Ensure that role descriptions are developed for all new positions and review/revise role descriptions for existing positions as required.
                                                        • Develop strategies to hire the best talents across the country through most efficient and cost-effective methods.
                                                        • Prepare /update the SOPs and necessary matrices for any hiring related processes. 
                                                        • Prepare offer letters, employment contracts and all other documentation related to employment.
                                                        • Prepare induction plans and take responsibility for the smooth induction of all new joinees.
                                                      • Through the analysis of data provide necessary reports to the Management on hiring status & needs.

                                                      Performance Management: 

                                                      • Assist Team Leaders and Associates to identify key result areas and objectives for each appraisal period and agree on performance standards.
                                                      • Monitor performance appraisal process, assist Team Leaders and Associates identify training and development needs. 
                                                      • Impart training on the Appraisal Process and Appraisal Skills.  

                                                       

                                                      Remuneration & Rewards: 

                                                      • Assist in the Remuneration Review process, including determining of remuneration for each grade/position keeping in mind market trends.
                                                      • Assist Team Leaders in linking variable pay/performance bonus to appraisal ratings.
                                                      • Ensure compliance with all statutory regulations pertaining to remuneration and rewards.    

                                                       

                                                      Learning & Development:

                                                      • Ensure that ‘Mentor Together’ is known as an organization where Associates believe they add value to themselves in terms of learning and growth and leverage this as a unique lever to attract and retain quality talent.  
                                                      • Identify appropriate learning and development interventions that will enhance skills and competencies required for better performance of individuals and teams.  
                                                      • Ensure that an effective training process is in place for all team leaders and Associates, including training needs assessments, professional development plans, and monitoring the implementation of these plans.
                                                      • Design in-house training interventions aimed at enhancing skills and competencies of individuals and teams.   
                                                      • Assist the leadership team in thinking through, formulating and executing change management initiatives. 
                                                      • Ensure that an effective training process is in place for all Team Leaders and Associates to fully understand People Systems and Processes including the appraisal process, training needs assessments, development plans, remuneration and benefits administration, selection and recruitment processes etc
                                                      • Provide coaching and training to Team Leaders and Associates as necessary in all relevant aspects of talent management and development.

                                                       

                                                       Career Management: 

                                                      • Assist the leadership team in identifying career paths for Team Leaders and Associates, based on the existing and future talent needs of the organization.
                                                      • Put in place an appropriate career dialoguing process where every Associate is able to understand the interdependence of his/her aspirations with the goals of the organization.
                                                      • Assist the leadership team in reviewing the careers of each Associate at least once every year.

                                                       

                                                      Talent Engagement:     

                                                      • Identify and execute appropriate talent engagement initiatives to ensure a high degree of organization vitality. 
                                                      • Identify and execute measures that will contribute to making ‘Mentor Together’ amongst the best places to work in.
                                                      • Execute processes designed to track in an ongoing basis the levels of talent engagement in the organization. Review processes as applicable.

                                                       

                                                      Administration:

                                                      • Keep track of Confirmation, Appraisals, and Increments of employees.
                                                      • Track attendance, maintain leave records, PF records, issue letters, etc.
                                                      • Prepare various letters like increment letter, transfer letter, Absenteeism notice, warning letter, show-cause notice, experience/service certificate, relieving letter, etc.
                                                      • Ensure the implementation of HR policies and Code of Conduct.
                                                      • Ensure that the organization chart and Associates’ contact information including personnel profiles etc is updated on a regular basis i.e. monthly or quarterly.
                                                      • Regularly update the HR Manual and other necessary documents.
                                                      • Manage day to day general administration for city team.

                                                       

                                                      SKILLS & COMPETENCIES: 

                                                      • A graduate or Master’s degree in Human Resources or allied discipline/s. While a formal qualification in HR management is desirable, it is not an essential requirement.     
                                                      • Demonstrated understanding of HR technical areas, such as compensation and benefits, employment, job evaluation, salary administration, performance management and personnel development etc.
                                                      • Strong ability to speak and write with simplicity and clarity including choice of words for correct emphasis etc.
                                                      • Strong listening, interpersonal, organizational and presentation skills.
                                                      • Ability to analyse data and come up with strategic insights.
                                                      • Ability to facilitate change, persuade and negotiate to reach acceptable compromise/solutions among all levels in the organization.
                                                      • Computer proficiency in MS Office suite and Google Suite.

                                                      KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

                                                        • 25% Review of curriculum usage and feedback
                                                          • Review feedback collected on curriculum usage across programs
                                                          • Design and collect feedback on sessions, mentor & mentee experiences & needs
                                                      • 50% Research, design & creation of curriculum
                                                          • Review and assimilate literature on topics of mentorship, life skills, work skills, work readiness, employability, jobs of the future, amongst others
                                                          • Frame concept notes and session structures to align with Mentor Together’s unique relationship-based approach to skills development
                                                          • Produce high-quality sessions that marry research with practical learning, for both face-to-face and mobile mediums
                                                          • Work with translators to have curriculum translated to different languages
                                                      • 25% Production (Design & Physical copies), deployment & community management
                                                        • Participate in the design of hardcopy and mobile based curriculum, along with graphic designers, UI/UX designers
                                                        • Secure the right vendor contracts for bulk production of curriculum. Work with program teams to manage the production of curriculum for program needs
                                                        • Manage communications around introducing curriculum to mentors, mentees & team, training around curriculum delivery, regular updates on curriculum topics, and ongoing feedback collection

                                                      SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:

                                                        • A minimum of an undergraduate degree in education, design, technology or other relevant subject. Postgraduate degree holders will receive higher preference.
                                                        • At least 5 years of experience, with 3 of those being demonstrable experience building curriculum in the life skills space
                                                        • Prior experience working on digital learning or in other relevant roles in digital media a plus
                                                            • Technology savvy, and aware of best-in-class practises in creating beautiful learning experiences on mobile
                                                            • Demonstrably strong oral and written communication skills
                                                              • Very strong analytical and logical skills
                                                              • Strong work planning & project management skills
