PURPOSE OF ROLE: To increase the visibility and impact of Mentor Together’s work nationally and internationally,  by planning, developing and implementing of marketing, communications and public relations activities. Through such work, significantly contributing to the development of new programme partnerships and funding opportunities.

LOCATION: Bangalore

EXPERIENCE: Between 5-7 years of full-time experience driving marketing and communications verticals/projects, preferably in the non-profit space.

  • KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • 30% Communications strategy:
      • Develop and deliver Mentor Together communications strategy, with a focus on increasing  visibility of Mentor Together’s work, popularising the  the concept of mentoring, and increasing the scope of Mentor Together’s programmes.
      • Use communications to add value to Mentor Together’s  strategic advocacy, research and network development objectives
      • Coordinate with internal team members to deliver the strategy
      • Manage and grow the Mentor Together brand, ensuring consistency of communications across all platforms
  • 20% Content management
    • Prepare and manage key communications collateral for organisation – e.g. website, annual report, organisation presentation, flyers, brochures etc.
    • Manage Mentor Together’s digital presence, including website and social media, and engage with online community
    • Work with designers, technology partners and other content partners to ensure delivery of high quality content
  • 10% Mentor and mentee community management:
    • Plan campaigns for mentor recruitment across social media and targeted communication channels with Corporate partners
    • Set up sponsored campaigns for mentor recruitment, to test out different strategies of recruitment
    • Work with designers to create communication collateral
    • Create a community engagement guide for mentors for in-person and mobile mentorship programs, including opportunities for continued learning and sharing
    • Support program teams in the delivery of such community engagement
  • 20% Fundraising:
    • With senior leadership, create communication material for the organisation’s growth plans
    • Participate in sharing such plans with different possible stakeholder groups
    • Support Mentor Together’s activities to strengthen its financial health, including fundraising events, online campaigns and the like
  • 20% Advocacy and Public Relations
    • Develop and maintain a database of relevant media and public relations contacts
    • Organize different events to achieve Mentor Together’s research and advocacy objectives
  • QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES:
    • Postgraduate degree level qualification or equivalent in a communications related subject.
    • 5 – 7  years of experience working in the field of communications. Demonstrable ability in the functional areas mentioned above
    • Proven experience working with social media platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.
    • Experience working with e-communications, including preparing and sending e-bulletins, newsletters, annual reports etc
    • Excellent writing skills.
    • Strong planning and organising skills, with excellent attention to detail.
    • Strong MS Office skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to influence and present our work, across the organisation and externally.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • 20% People Planning:
    • Manage the recruitment, selection and onboarding of Associates and short-term volunteers.
    • Ensure that role descriptions are developed for new positions and to review/revise role descriptions for existing positions as required.
    • Prepare offer letters, employment contracts and all other documentation related to employment.
    • Prepare induction kits and take responsibility for the proper induction for all new joinees.
  • 10% Performance Management:
    • Assist Team Leaders and Associates identify key result areas and objectives for each appraisal period and agree performance standards.
    • Monitor performance appraisal process, assist Team Leaders and Associates identify training and development needs.
    • Impart training on the Appraisal Process and Appraisal Skills.
  • 10% Remuneration & Rewards:
    • Assist in the Annual Remuneration Review process, including determining of remuneration for each grade/position keeping in mind market trends.
    • Assist Team Leaders link variable pay/performance bonus to appraisal ratings.
    • Ensure compliance with all statutory regulations pertaining to remuneration and rewards.
  • 20% Learning & Development:
    • Ensure that ‘Mentor Together’ is known as an organization where Associates believe they add value to themselves in terms of learning and growth and leverage this as a unique lever to attract and retain quality talent.
    • Identify appropriate learning and development interventions that will enhance skills and competencies required for better performance of individuals and teams.
    • Ensure that an effective training process is in place for all team leaders and Associates, including training needs assessments, professional development plans, and monitoring the implementation of these plans.
    • Design in-house training interventions aimed at enhancing skills and competencies of individuals and teams.
    • Assist the leadership team in thinking through, formulating and executing change management initiatives.
    • Ensure that an effective training process is in place for all Team Leaders and Associates to fully understand People Systems and Processes including the appraisal process, training needs assessments, development plans, remuneration and benefits administration, selection and recruitment processes etc
    • Provide coaching and training to Team Leaders and Associates as necessary in all relevant aspects of talent management and development.
  • 10% Career Management:
    • Assist the leadership team in identifying career paths for Team Leaders and Associates, based on the existing and future talent needs of the organization.
    • Put in place an appropriate career dialoguing process where every Associate is able to understand the interdependence of his/her aspirations with the goals of the organization.
    • Assist the leadership team in reviewing careers of each Associate at least once every year.
  • 20% Talent Engagement:     
    • Identify and execute appropriate talent engagement initiatives to ensure a high degree of organization vitality.
    • Identify and execute measures that will contribute to making ‘Mentor Together’ amongst the best places to work in.
    • Put in place processes to track on an ongoing basis the levels of talent engagement in the organization.
  • 10% Administration:
    • Keep track of Confirmation, Appraisals, and Increments of employees.
    • Track attendance, maintain leave records, PF records, issue letters, etc.
    • Prepare various letters like increment letter, transfer letter, Absenteeism notice, warning letter, showcase notice, experience/service certificate, relieving letter, etc.
    • Ensure the implementation of HR policies and Code of Conduct.
    • Ensure that the organization chart and Associates’ contact information including  personal profiles etc are updated on a regular basis i.e. monthly or quarterly.
  • SKILLS & COMPETENCIES:
    • A graduate or Master’s degree in Human Resources or allied discipline/s. While a formal qualification in HR management is desirable, it is not an essential requirement.
    • At least 3 years of experience in HR management in a non-profit or corporate multi-cultural environment.
    • Fluency in written and spoken English.
    • Strong interpersonal, communication and organizational skills.
    • Ability to facilitate change, persuade and negotiate to reach acceptable compromise/solutions among all levels in the organization.

LOCATION: Pune

EXPERIENCE: 4 years of relevant social sector experience or strong related sector experience, in program management and reporting.

OVERVIEW: The Program Manager has overall ownership and responsibility of a program with 100 – 150 pairs, working with 1 project coordinator and 2 mentee coordinators to ensure successful program execution.

  • KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Create & own the annual operational plan for a program with at least 100 – 150 pairs
    • Plan & execute mentor outreach reaching out to at least 400 – 500 mentors, over different mediums – corporate partners, social media etc.
    • Participate in at least half of the mentor selection along with the project co-ordinator and oversee remaining mentor selection to ensure successful completion & intake of at least 100 mentors over the program cycle
    • Deliver the full induction training (of 8 hours) to mentors selected
    • Oversee planning of mentee outreach & selection for 100 – 150 mentees
    • Plan and execute matching of mentors and mentees across 100 – 150 pairs
    • Oversee successful introduction of 100 – 150 pairs in the program cycle
    • Track and report the planning of regular mentoring meetings in the program

The JPM manages relationships with mentee partner institutions (NGOs, shelter homes, and high schools) in the rural areas. The JPM also works on mentee support system primarily family. In addition, the JPM assists the mentor team in mentor selection, training delivery, monitoring and support for pairs and program assessments.
