PURPOSE OF ROLE: To increase the visibility and impact of Mentor Together’s work nationally and internationally,  by planning, developing and implementing of marketing, communications and public relations activities. Through such work, significantly contributing to the development of new programme partnerships and funding opportunities.

LOCATION: Bangalore

EXPERIENCE: Between 5-7 years of full-time experience driving marketing and communications verticals/projects, preferably in the non-profit space.

  • KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • 30% Communications strategy:
      • Develop and deliver Mentor Together communications strategy, with a focus on increasing  visibility of Mentor Together’s work, popularising the  the concept of mentoring, and increasing the scope of Mentor Together’s programmes.
      • Use communications to add value to Mentor Together’s  strategic advocacy, research and network development objectives
      • Coordinate with internal team members to deliver the strategy
      • Manage and grow the Mentor Together brand, ensuring consistency of communications across all platforms
  • 20% Content management
    • Prepare and manage key communications collateral for organisation – e.g. website, annual report, organisation presentation, flyers, brochures etc.
    • Manage Mentor Together’s digital presence, including website and social media, and engage with online community
    • Work with designers, technology partners and other content partners to ensure delivery of high quality content
  • 10% Mentor and mentee community management:
    • Plan campaigns for mentor recruitment across social media and targeted communication channels with Corporate partners
    • Set up sponsored campaigns for mentor recruitment, to test out different strategies of recruitment
    • Work with designers to create communication collateral
    • Create a community engagement guide for mentors for in-person and mobile mentorship programs, including opportunities for continued learning and sharing
    • Support program teams in the delivery of such community engagement
  • 20% Fundraising:
    • With senior leadership, create communication material for the organisation’s growth plans
    • Participate in sharing such plans with different possible stakeholder groups
    • Support Mentor Together’s activities to strengthen its financial health, including fundraising events, online campaigns and the like
  • 20% Advocacy and Public Relations
    • Develop and maintain a database of relevant media and public relations contacts
    • Organize different events to achieve Mentor Together’s research and advocacy objectives
  • QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCIES:
    • Postgraduate degree level qualification or equivalent in a communications related subject.
    • 5 – 7  years of experience working in the field of communications. Demonstrable ability in the functional areas mentioned above
    • Proven experience working with social media platforms, such as Facebook, Twitter and YouTube.
    • Experience working with e-communications, including preparing and sending e-bulletins, newsletters, annual reports etc
    • Excellent writing skills.
    • Strong planning and organising skills, with excellent attention to detail.
    • Strong MS Office skills.
    • Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to influence and present our work, across the organisation and externally.
    • Ability to work independently, coordinate with vendors & partners, and get things done

PURPOSE / ROLE: The position will work closely with the Chief Executive Officer, in management accounting, in establishing and reviewing financial systems & controls, and in managing reporting & compliances

LOCATION: Bangalore

  • KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
    • Budgets & financial structuring (30%)
      • Understand current budget structures and systems
      • Review and apply global best practices in financial management and budgeting
      • Create 5 year, 3 year and 1 year budgets for the organisation
      • Prepare financing plans for the budgets
  • Accounting Controls, Processes & Vendor Management (20%)
    • Review, create and own all internal accounting processes and protocols
    • Manage accounting workflows with senior managers and accountants
    • Cash flow management
    • Ensure full compliance with budgets
    • Onboard new vendors, manage banking partners
  • Management Information Systems (MIS) (20%)
    • Review and manage formats for monthly, quarterly and annual information systems
    • Coordinate with Accounts team to ensure timely generation of MIS
    • Present MIS to senior management with recommendations
  • Partner reporting (15%)
    • Prepare grant requests, invoices, utilisation statements etc.
    • Ensure periodic financial reporting to donors
    • Participate in budget and utilisation discussions with partners
  • Compliance and Disclosures (15%)
    • Ensure monthly compliances with statutory payments
    • Work with accountants and auditors in audit and preparation of yearly financial statements
    • Work with accountants and auditors to ensure compliance with all non-profit regulations and industry good governance practices
  • EXPERIENCE:
    • Postgraduate degree in Finance or Commerce
    • Minimum 5 – 7 years of work experience in the Finance domain, preferably in the development sector, especially budgets, MIS, donor reporting Very strong knowledge of applications like Excel
    • Working knowledge of Tally beneficial

LOCATION: Pune & Mumbai

EXPERIENCE: 4 years of relevant social sector experience or strong related sector experience, in program management and reporting.

OVERVIEW: The Program Manager has overall ownership and responsibility of a program with 100 – 150 pairs, working with 1 project coordinator and 2 mentee coordinators to ensure successful program execution.

  • KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
    • Create & own the annual operational plan for a program with at least 100 – 150 pairs
    • Plan & execute mentor outreach reaching out to at least 400 – 500 mentors, over different mediums – corporate partners, social media etc.
    • Participate in at least half of the mentor selection along with the project co-ordinator and oversee remaining mentor selection to ensure successful completion & intake of at least 100 mentors over the program cycle
    • Deliver the full induction training (of 8 hours) to mentors selected
    • Oversee planning of mentee outreach & selection for 100 – 150 mentees
    • Plan and execute matching of mentors and mentees across 100 – 150 pairs
    • Oversee successful introduction of 100 – 150 pairs in the program cycle
    • Track and report the planning of regular mentoring meetings in the program
    • Read mentor logs and do regular check-ins with mentors
    • Prepare standardized reports for mentor reviews and deliver review sessions at least 2 times per mentor in the program cycle
    • Create and execute a calendar of events/activities for mentors and mentees in the city during the program cycle
    • Create monthly reports on key project activities
    • Manage program accounts
  • GROWTH & SKILLS DEVELOPMENT:

  • QUALIFICATIONS:
    • A minimum of an undergraduate degree in social sciences or relevant subject. Post-graduate holders preferred
    • At least 4 years of experience in program management and execution. Some time must have been spent directly working with youth at-risk.
    • Excellent English writing and speaking skills
    • Demonstrable ability to work to deadlines and manage a varied workload

PURPOSE: Th­­­­­­­e purpose of the role is to execute a range of activities with mentees, their communities and other stakeholders in the mentee world (HMs, NGO partners, shelter home caretakers etc) and record observations accurately in order to guide the program team meet the larger program objectives. The Junior Program Manager also contributes towards building capacity in the mentee team by participating in the training and development of mentee co-ordinators.

EXPERIENCE: 2 – 4 years of relevant social sector experience with a minimum of an undergraduate degree, with a postgraduate degree like MSW preferred

OVERVIEW: The Junior Program Manager’s primary responsibility is coordinating with the youth (ages 14-21) that Mentor Together works with. The JPM looks at mentee selection, delivering programs to mentees and evaluating mentee performance. The JPM manages relationships with mentee partner institutions (NGOs, shelter homes, and low income schools) in the city. In addition, the JPM assists the mentor team in mentor selection, training delivery and program assessments.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • 100% Program Execution
    • Identify partner institutions for mentees (Shelter Homes and low income schools and NGO foundations), make presentations on the program and secure program MoUs with Institution Heads.
    • Conduct different screening and selection activities for mentees.
    • Administer psychometric and other baseline tests. Collate data and make reports.
    • Create and analyze mentee and mentor databases in order to find suitable matches for mentors and mentees.
    • Conduct home-visits for potential mentees, explain program to parents/guardians and secure parent approval.
    • Assist in setting up mentor interviews.
    • Organize, prepare and deliver induction and on-going training to mentees.
    • Organize and conduct group activities like engagement activities with mentees at various mentee institutes
    • Collect periodical feedback from mentees through different surveys, in-person discussions.
    • Liaise with mentee partner institution heads and collect regular feedback.
    • Arrange group workshops/skill based activities for mentees with volunteers
    • Assist Program Coordinator with mentor training and mentor together promotional activities.
